Master's thesis in Specialized nursing (ME519)Background: Our interest in the trauma team beganwhen we started working in the hospital. This interest increased as we began our education as anesthetic nurses and were allowed to join the trauma team with a larger and more important role. Anesthetic nursing is a practical profession and requires high professional knowledge and good practical skills. An anesthetic nurses hould be able to participate in pre-hospital work. A newly trained anesthetic nurse who works in trauma teams can feel very vulnerable and intimidated in an emergency situation due to the fact that they would have least amount of knowledge and experience in situations such as planned and unplanned emergency surgeries. Purpose: We want to shed light on how newly qualified anesthetic nurses experience participating in trauma teams. Method: Qualitative semi-structured individual interviews were conducted by 6 newly qualified anesthetic nurses. The topics for the interviews were previous experiences in trauma teams, experience of participating in trauma teams, communication and preparation
